Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble Will Shut Down Before Its Full Release

Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is ending before a global launch, with its servers set to close on May 1, 2027.

Ratchet and Clank run through a colorful arena with other Rangers in Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble.

Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is ending before it ever gets its full global release. The free-to-play mobile shooter’s final update rolled out on November 6, and its servers will close for good on May 1, 2027.

For the players who got into the regional soft launch, there’s a small grace period. The game will leave the App Store and Google Play on November 21, but anyone who already has it installed can keep playing until the server shutdown.

The notice on the game’s official website says the team made the “difficult decision” to stop development. It does not give a reason. It does make the practical side clear: once the servers close, the game will no longer load and player data will be deleted.

That means this is a brief final lap for a game that many Ratchet & Clank fans never had the chance to download. The multiplayer arena shooter had only rolled out in selected regions, despite worldwide pre-registration opening earlier this year. PlayStation’s July overview described it as a mobile hero shooter developed by Oh BiBi with PlayStation Studios and Insomniac Games.

If you are still playing, there are a few useful changes. In-app purchases have been removed, the Super Pass is now free, and Qwark Pass seasons will keep running until the end of service. Players can still earn rewards through play and use their currency on upgrades, cosmetics, characters, and more.

Just don’t treat November 21 as the final bell. That is the date for new downloads to stop. May 1, 2027 is the hard stop for matches, progress, and all the stuff left on the servers. The official FAQ says progress and unlocked items will not transfer to another game.

It’s a rough exit for a series that had made a strange but lively jump to mobile. For those who were waiting for a proper launch, that launch is no longer coming.
