PlayStation Has Pushed Back Its First Wireless Speakers With No New Date

PlayStation has delayed the November 12 launch of Pulse Elevate after quality testing found a manufacturing issue, and it has not yet announced a replacement date.

PlayStation’s first wireless speakers were supposed to arrive next week. Now, Pulse Elevate has no release date at all.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has delayed the speakers after finding a manufacturing issue during quality testing. The black and white models had been set to launch on November 12 for $219.99 in the U.S., but PlayStation has not said when they will reach stores instead.

The update is short on specifics. PlayStation says the delay gives it more time to check quality and make adjustments so the product delivers the experience it wants players to have. It apologized to people waiting for the speakers and said it is working to get them out as soon as possible.

That means anyone who pre-ordered the pair is left waiting for their retailer or direct.playstation.com to share a new delivery plan. The company has not called the product cancelled. It has only removed the date.

What Pulse Elevate Was Meant To Be

Pulse Elevate is an unusual move for PlayStation. It is a pair of rechargeable wireless desktop speakers built for PS5, PC, Mac, PlayStation Portal, and Bluetooth devices. The speakers use PlayStation Link for low-latency, lossless audio on supported hardware, and the right unit includes a microphone with AI noise reduction for headset-free voice chat.

PlayStation also says the pair uses planar magnetic drivers and built-in woofers, with charging docks for a desk setup and batteries for portable use. That makes them more than a typical console accessory: they are meant to work as a compact gaming-audio setup across several devices.

The delay came from quality testing, according to PlayStation’s official announcement. A Japanese update gives the same explanation, saying a manufacturing problem was found and that more work is needed before launch.

For now, the practical takeaway is simple. The November 12 release is off, and PlayStation has not given buyers a date to circle instead.
