In a press release, Konami announced that its remaster of 2004’s Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, which was released on August 28, has surpassed more than 1 million total shipments and digital sales worldwide. That figure is only for its first day of release.
The Metal Gear series is best known for its association with Hideo Kojima, who led development of the series from 1987 to 2015, when he left Konami in a highly public fallout with the company. Metal Gear Solid Delta is only the second game in the series to release since Kojima’s departure; the last game was 2018’s Metal Gear SURVIVE, which was both a critical and commercial failure. Delta is also doing well critically, earning a Generally Favorable score of 86 on Metacritic.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
