Titanfall 2 is all about shooting and sliding and jumping around at breakneck velocity like a bullet-crazy cyber-grasshopper. Soon, thanks to prolific VR modder CircuitLord, you’ll be able to experience it all in virtual reality. This, naturally, raises the question: ‘Should you wait 30 minutes after eating?’
The video above shows off some nifty-looking early footage of the mod in action, beginning with an immersive few minutes in the cockpit of a mech before the player dismounts and all hell breaks loose.
Titanfall 2 has always been a beautiful game to witness in movement, due in large part to the snappiness and weight of the player’s movement. Having the VR mod active doesn’t change the fact that it looks great on my screen. Said screen is a decidedly non-VR flatscreen one, though, so we’ll see how players’ stomach acid reacts with the goggles on. I imagine some will want a ginger ale handy for their first virtual-reality excursion.
CircuitLord promises the final public project will offer more than simply a way to play Titanfall 2 with your favorite VR device. The developer recently added left-handed support and the ability to manually reload weapons, and previously implemented holsters because who knows where protagonist Jack Cooper puts his guns when he’s not using them.
